Magic in the Mundane
I’m excited to announce that Magic in the Mundane: Making Life’s Ordinary Extraordinary published last week and is in full launch this week.
You might be asking why I haven’t written a book about the data, information, and analytics economy and the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the last 20 years as an expert in monetizing data and information and making money and driving growth in this industry. In reality, I’ve been writing about this industry for the past two decades. Whether in our year-end Outlook — now in its 23rd year — or in dozens of blog posts or written analyses for our clients throughout the year, I’ve had plenty to say. Right now, I’m compelled to share more about my life’s journey and what it took to create an amazing life that works even in hard times through rough patches.
I’m passionate about work/family integration, supporting leaders to live their truths, and ensuring that people find the alchemy in their choices. Someone asked me how long it took me to write Magic. In reality, a lifetime; practically speaking, about 10 years. I’d have dry spells and flurries of creativity. I’d tell my family and friends it was in the making. And finally, well, it’s here.
So, what’s it about? I’ve been blessed with great feedback that I invite you to look at (and if the book calls, purchase it, leave a review, or both). It’ll make a great gift. Magic is about making life’s every day moments, the mundane, special — magical, even. Our lives are complex, and we’re living in crazy times. Every moment of every day is an opportunity to make life simpler, happier, easier, and less fraught with stress, agita, conflict, and strife.
I’m proud of the magic in this book and invite you to join me on a journey to find more magic in all our lives. If you have comments, thoughts, questions, or ideas, be in touch. Together, we can make life’s ordinary, extraordinary. Join me.
