The Magic of Asking for What One Wants
In Magic in the Mundane, I write about asking for what one wants. This necklace is the byproduct of that chapter. It’s my original wedding diamond. The one Greg surprised me with when we celebrated our wedding 4 months after we eloped in Hawaii. We bought simple gold bands for each other which we exchanged in our Maui Chapel. Then four months later at that party in front of our family, and friends, Greg surprised me with this beautiful stone.
25 years later, as I wrote in the book, I asked for another stone to celebrate our milestone anniversary. I had the design for this necklace in my mind’s eye, taking my original diamond and making a necklace.
Once again with Nick from Patronik Designs wonderful craftsmanship, this came together. It’s my design which he made a reality and I love the mixed metal. It’s white gold with a yellow center that is now home to my stone.
Every piece of jewelry has a story and it’s what makes them unique and special to us and where we find the magic in them. It’s personal.
